When I first became engaged, I picked up a copy of Brides magazine and it featured a story about wedding style inspiration from favorite children's picture books!
A school librarian's dream come true!
It features Lois Ehlert's Waiting for Wings, Barbara Cooney's Miss Rumphius, Cynthia Rylant's All in a Day, and Ludwig Bemelmans' Madeline.
Check out the link below to see the entire feature:

I'll be the first to admit that a children's book theme might be hard to pull off without looking too juvenile; however, a few little touches here and there would be oh so charming!
Probably the best opportunity would be through hand-illustrated invitations.
Here are just a few exquisitely crafted examples I found on Esty.com.
Continuing from the library wedding theme from my previous post, these invitations are super cool!
There are also so many ways to incorporate a sweet childhood nostalgia theme into a wedding...
Like centerpieces:
A paper doll garland:
A dollhouse entrance table:
A lollipop bouquet:
Clothespin doll cake toppers:
A candy-dot themed wedding cake:
Or a sweet shop-themed wedding cake table:
Even better! A summery, nostalgic candy bar!
And they lived happily ever after...
