A Wedding for Christmas?

Since I live in snow-plagued Buffalo & I've worked way too many retail holiday seasons, the idea of having a Christmas/Winter-themed wedding wouldn't exactly be my first pick.

Despite this prejudice, the festive feel of the holidays is fantastic for off-the-beaten path wedding style, and if you can get a discount for doing things off-season, I wouldn't blame you for warming up to a December wedding!

There are some really adorable ideas out there!
Churches are never more beautiful than they are at Christmastime; plus the decorations are already done for you!Take full advantage of the reception venue's Christmas decor too!Dress picks from Jim Hjelm and Monique Lhuillier:

I heart sleeves and lace!
Perfect affordable accessories from Alfred Angelo and David's Bridal!

Loving the vintage glam!
Dreaming of a white wedding...
Red amaryllis or white amaryllis bouquet?
I can't resist a hand-tied red anemone bouquet!

So pretty!
Years ago, I thought my wedding colors should be aqua and red! Now I hate red at weddings, except for when it's season-appropriate! And it's just not Christmas without red!
Perfect bridesmaid look!

Love the accent of blush! Reminds me of pink poinsettias!
Fur stole and birdcage veil! Yes please!
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
See you in 2011!

Fall Wedding Cakes!

Tomorrow I'm meeting with my good friend Neil,
who I have known since I was fourteen years old!
Just so happens the man makes the most delicious treats, and he has graciously agreed to make our wedding cake!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Fall wedding cakes I found while researching styles:

The cake that started them all! We want a dark chocolate ganache frosted wedding cake, with accents of orange to tie in the October feel!

Below is another chocolate and orange wedding cake, love the rustic look! It looks like the kind of cake you would get caught scraping the frosting off of with your finger when you were a little kid!

I think I need some cake now! Bon apetit!

Librarian Bridal Chic!

While more buttoned-up bridal style may not be all the rage these days, when see-through corsets are considered appropriate wedding day attire, we mustn't forget our class, ladies! Take a page out of the sexy librarian handbook & impress with eclectic, whimsical and sophisticated style! Sleeves, brooches and vintage pearls and a must!
No cardigans necessary!

I love that these brides had the courage to rock a librarian's must-have accessory: glasses! I'm usually not a fan of specs on one's wedding day, but there are exceptions to every rule!
